How to measure tips
How to measure tips BUST- Measure around the fullest part of the bust with a thumb behind the tape not too tight WAIST - Measure the smallest part of waist when you bend to the side where the crease is or about 1 to 2 inches above the navel holding the thumb behind the tape HIPS - Measure around the fullest part of the hips and bottom holding a thumb behind the tape When doing your own measurements to supply to a bridal shop etc it is important to get this right, if done in the wrong place could mean an inch or more out and this could result in a size or two ordered incorrectly. If you are unsure it might pay to get a professional to do it, either a dressmaker or a bridal shop in your area. Off the rack gowns are all made to fit an hour glass figure (which few have) so if you dont have a very definate waistline, or a large bust the gown will be ordered in a size to fit the largest part of your body which usually results in some alteration to the bust or hips. So if an ordered gown fits your waist and is too big in the bust and hips it doesn't mean the wrong size has been ordered it just means it has been ordered to fit a standard hour glass figure. Lets face it not many people have that shape and will need minor alterations. To have a gown made to measure to fit perfectly usually results in a much higher cost attached to the gown. |
